Art for Sale during 2nd Half of Art Loop Open
For the Second Half of Art Loop Open, all works are now for sale. Jason Messinger's mural "Sympathies", a 5' tall by 9' wide, hand-carved ceramic tile mural is located just past the Concierge Desk - across from the Potter's Lounge bar at the Palmer House Hotel.
Prices for all 190 participating artworks are located next to each piece. On Friday Oct. 29, 15 awards were distributed from the Art Loop Open. Congratulations to all the artist winners, and to the Chicago Loop Alliance and Chicago Artist's Coalition for their dedication in this first Annual event.


"Urban Sentinels" at Illinois Artisans Shop
Now through the Holidays, Chicago's Illinois Artisans Shop presents a selection of Jason Messinger's signature Telephone Pole Tiles. Look for his signature work reproduced on Buttons at the SOFA Chicago show this weekend.

 
Cornelia Arts Building November Open House
On Friday Night, Nov. 19, from 6  - 10pm, the Cornelia Arts Building at 1800 West Cornelia celebrates its annual November Open House. Featuring the work of over 20 of the building artists and artisans in their working art studios. Jason Messinger, studio #204,  continues his Guest Artist Showcase with oil paintings by Joey Wozniak

Art On Display In Chicago



Now through Nov. 12, the 5' x 9' ceramic tile mural "Sympathies" is on display @ the Palmer House Hotel, (past concierge desk and across from Potter's Lounge), as part of Art Loop Open.

Now through the Holidays, the Illinois Artisans Shop presents: “Urban Imagery,” highlighting work across a range of media that pulls from and is inspired by the urban landscape and language. Located on the second floor of the Thompson Center. (Hint: Take escalator up to avoid Building Security!) See a selection of Jason Messinger's Telephone Pole Tiles there.

191 local artists, selected by jury from over 800 entries, are on display at the ten official Art Loop Open venues: Block 37, Hard Rock Hotel Chicago, Hotel Burnham, Macy’s, Merchandise Mart, French Market - Metra Mart, Palmer House, Hotel Allegro, theWit Hotel, and W Chicago-City Center. Together these iconic venues create a web of instantly connected neighborhood galleries, open and free to the public. 

MEET THE ARTISTS near their work this Thursday 5:30 - 8 pm!

During the First Round of voting, visitors can vote for as many art pieces as they’d like, via Smart Phone Application or Text Message. Info on voting is at each venue. Block 37 hosts many of the artworks as well as the "HUB 37" pedway-level interactive area, where you can see thumbnails of all works and their locations and plan out your visit with high tech tools. Artists are competing in over $60,000 in cash and other prizes, with top cash prizes awarded by the public.

Jason Messinger chosen for Chicago's new Art Loop Open.

Chicago’s inaugural Art Loop Open, a major new art competition judged by the public, launches with a festive Loop Art Crawl throughout the downtown area, Friday, October 15, 5 - 8 p.m.

190 local artists, selected by an esteemed jury from a pool of over 800 entries, will be on display at the ten official Art Loop Open venues: Block 37, Hard Rock Hotel Chicago, Hotel Burnham, Macy’s, Merchandise Mart, French Market - Metra Mart, Palmer House, Hotel Allegro, theWit Hotel, and W Chicago-City Center. Together these iconic venues will create a web of instantly connected neighborhood galleries, open and free to the public. 

Friday Oct. 15th, from 5 - 8 pm, the public can visit each venue and begin voting for their favorite artworks, while enjoying specially-priced “Artini” cocktails and other offerings. Artists will be on hand to discuss their works. 

From Oct. 15 - 21, the public participates in the First Round of voting, when they can vote once on as many pieces as they’d like. Please come out to visit the sites, see the artwork, and vote via Smart Phone app or Text Message - info at each site!  Artists are competing in over $60,000 in cash and other prizes, with top cash prizes awarded by the public. 

Viewers will have access to a wealth of information about the Artists and the work available to them via the web site, traditional print materials and through specially designed technology accessible through their smart phones and social media applications, including technologies that will enable audiences to engage with art, artists and venues through innovative mapping tools, virtual dialogues, and extensions to artists’ studios. Viewers can also follow ALO through Facebook and Twitter.
