This Holiday season, get more art in your life at the Cornelia Arts Building’s Holiday Open House. For over thirty years this artist incubator space has provided Chicago artists, working in a variety of mediums, with professional studio spaces to pursue their craft. 


Come experience real working art studios of Cornelia Arts Building’s talented artists and artisans. Meet the creators in person, and explore their art practices up close. See artwork from the building’s numerous resident artists, and enjoy the newest guest artist exhibitions.

 Join Jason Messinger and his guest artist Joey Wozniak as they showcase original artwork and gifts in a wide range of prices and sizes. Sample our white sangria and nibble some sweets as you shop for gifts or select something for yourself.

The building opens its doors to the public only four times a year. At this December 8th event, come explore two full floors of working artist studios, and have a chance to purchase artwork and hand-made crafts directly from the people who made them.
Over fifty local artists and artisans work here, including sculptors, painters, photographers, ceramic artists, print-makers, jewelry designers, textile artisans, and much more. 


With one-of-a-kind hand-made artwork and gifts by the building artists, and juried guest artist exhibitions by Lily Niederpruem and Felissa Onixte, the event offers something for the whole family to enjoy. Free and open to the public.


Established in 1986 in a former ice-house, the Cornelia Arts Building is one of the largest and one of the oldest all-artist studio buildings on Chicago's North side.


The building rests at the border of three distinct Chicago Neighborhoods; Lakeview, Roscoe Village, and North Center. Located close to public transportation and only two blocks south of the Addison Brown Line CTA stop, the building also has free parking available in parking lot out front, and on neighborhood streets nearby.

The State Street Gallery is please to announce its fall exhibition, Connections, highlighting the work of over 30 artists and artisans living and working in Illinois. The juried collection is largely tactile and three dimensional including work in ceramic, wood, blown glass, fused glass, steel, textile, oil paintings, photography, and painted glass.

This is the 5th curated exhibition hosted by the galleries of Robert Morris University that celebrate the vast talents of artists and artisans living and working in Illinois. In addition to the works on display in the exhibition, smaller hand-crafted items by the featured artists will be available for immediate purchase in the ArtMart section of the State Street Gallery.

Jason Messinger in studio #204 has taking tome away from his construction of the new commission for the CTA's IMD Train Station Stop, to present his signature tile murals - including new porcelain pieces, free flowing ceramic sculptures, and his densely patterned ink paintings and drawing. Also see brand new artwork by his guest painter - Joey Wozniak.



Shop for great artwork and gifts from our several brand-new-to-the-buliding resident artists, and the latest from your favorites. See new hallway guest artist exhibitions by Toni Graves and Shirley Hudson, and enjoy complimentary drink and fare in the studios. Events are FREE and open to the public.

You will get a chance to meet both long-term and new building resident artists. In studio #204 Jason Messinger showcases his signature tile murals, free flowing ceramic sculptures, and painting and drawings on paper. Also find new paintings by Chicago artist Joey Wozniak, in his signature 'modern cave painting' style.

On the lobby level, come see the juried-in guest artist exhibitions by artists Yvonne Doll and Meredith Dytch. Find one-of-a-kind gifts for yourself and others. Enjoy handcrafted gourmet sandwiches from Jack's Fork in the Road food truck outside. Open studio events are free and open to the public.
