This Holiday season, get more art in your life at the Cornelia Arts Building’s Holiday Open House. For over thirty years this artist incubator space has provided Chicago artists, working in a variety of mediums, with professional studio spaces to pursue their craft.
Come experience real working
art studios of Cornelia Arts Building’s talented artists and artisans. Meet the
creators in person, and explore their art practices up close. See artwork from
the building’s numerous resident artists, and enjoy the newest guest artist
exhibitions.
Join Jason Messinger and his guest artist Joey Wozniak as they showcase original artwork and gifts in a wide range of prices and sizes. Sample our white sangria and nibble some sweets as you shop for gifts or select something for yourself.
The building opens its doors to the public only four times a
year. At this December 8th event, come explore two full floors of working
artist studios, and have a chance to purchase artwork and hand-made crafts
directly from the people who made them.
Over fifty local artists and artisans work here, including sculptors, painters, photographers, ceramic artists, print-makers, jewelry designers, textile artisans, and much more.
With one-of-a-kind hand-made artwork and gifts by the building artists, and juried guest artist exhibitions by Lily Niederpruem and Felissa Onixte, the event offers something for the whole family to enjoy. Free and open to the public.
Established in 1986 in a former ice-house, the Cornelia Arts Building is one of the largest and one of the oldest all-artist studio buildings on Chicago's North side.
The building rests at the border of three distinct Chicago Neighborhoods; Lakeview, Roscoe Village, and North Center. Located close to public transportation and only two blocks south of the Addison Brown Line CTA stop, the building also has free parking available in parking lot out front, and on neighborhood streets nearby.
