Cornelia Arts Building Nov 22 Open House

Meet the working artists of the Cornelia Arts Building at their last Open House of the year!
On Friday November 22, 2019, from 6 to 10 pm, artists of The Cornelia Art Building, located at 1800 West Cornelia Ave. in Chicago, invite the public to see their artwork in their working art studio spaces. 
Visit one of the largest all-artist buildings on Chicago’s North side, and experience the wonder of two-full floors of working artist studios at this, the fourth and final open house for the year. 
With one-of-a-kind artwork and special artisan-made holiday gifts by both the building artists and their special guest lobby artists Socorro Mucino, Candice Johnson, and Manon Lyketsos, the event offers something for the whole family to enjoy.

Join Jason Messinger in studio # 204 where he'll show his signature tile murals, sculptures, and paintings and drawings on paper, as well as gift items including prints on metal, throw blankets, decor bowls and vases, and more.

Also on display in studio #204 are beautiful hand-crafted wood block collage portraits by guest artist Kass Copeland, and small dynamic paintings by guest artist Joey Wozniak, both artists' artwork priced for easy gift giving.

For thirty-three years this artist incubator space has provided Chicago artists with professional studio spaces to pursue their passion.  
Over fifty local artists and artisans work here, including sculptors, painters, photographers, ceramic artists, print-makers, jewelry designers, textile artisans, and much more.  
Visitors to the Open House can meet the building’s talented artists and artisans in person, explore their art practices up close, and enjoy the opportunity to purchase artwork and hand-made crafts directly from the people who made them.
Established in 1986 in a former ice-house, the Cornelia Arts Building is located at 1800 West Cornelia, at the border of three distinct Chicago Neighborhoods; Lakeview, Roscoe Village, and North Center. 
Located close to public transportation and only two blocks south of the Addison Brown Line CTA stop, the building also has free parking available in parking lot out front, and on neighborhood streets nearby. 
Event is free and open to the public.

Edgar Degas wrote “Art is not what you see, it is what you make others see.” On Friday May 17, 2019, from 6 to 10 pm, Jason Messinger and the other artists of The Cornelia Art Building, located at 1800 West Cornelia, invite the public to see their art and experience the space they make it in. Visit one of the largest all-artist buildings on Chicago’s Northside, and experience the wonder of two-full floors of working art studios. See new artwork by Jason Messinger in Studio #204 and enjoy a glass of his infamous white wine sangria served by his partner Michael Reid.
