soul – Open yourself to art at the Cornelia Arts Building March 1 Open Studios
Stella Adler wrote “Life beats down and crushes the soul,
and art reminds you that you have
one.” On Friday March 1, 2019,
from 6 to 10 pm, The Cornelia Art
Building, located at 1800 West Cornelia, invites the public to nourish their
souls with original art.

Visit one of the largest all-artist buildings on Chicago’s
Northside, and experience the wonder of two-full floors of working
art studios. See new work by artist Jason Messinger, and meet the building’s other talented artists and artisans in person, explore
their art practices up close, and enjoy the opportunity to purchase artwork and
hand-made crafts directly from the people who made them.

For thirty-three years this
artist incubator space has provided Chicago artists with professional studio
spaces to pursue their craft. Over fifty local artists and
artisans work here, including sculptors, painters, photographers, ceramic
artists, print-makers, jewelry designers, textile artisans, and much
more.

With one-of-a-kind hand-made artwork
and gifts by both the building artists and special guest lobby artists: Kim
Halley and Filomena Richardson, the event offers something for the
whole family to enjoy.

Established
in 1986 in a former ice-house, the Cornelia Arts Building is located at 1800
West Cornelia, at the border of three distinct Chicago Neighborhoods; Lakeview,
Roscoe Village, and North Center.

Located close to public transportation and
only two blocks south of the Addison Brown Line CTA stop, the building also has
free parking available in parking lot out front, and on neighborhood streets
nearby. Event is free and open to the public.
